This is same insect. Wings are still soft. It could not fly. Latter color will turn dark, just eyes will stay red. Street lighting as light source. 10 sec exposition.
Beautifully lit photo of a really strange-looking insect.Looks like he's wearing sun glasses until you notice the orange eyes just above!These insects make an incredible din here in the summer -the hotter it is ,the noisier they get but they never appear here in the enormous numbers you get over in the States;I wonder why not.Thanks for your comment on my photo,I'm glad you enjoyed it.Regards Tony.

interesting creature I heard about them today on the news they live underground for like 17 years then hatch to mate thats pretty wild.... very good capture
I've read these buggers will be as thick as 1,500,000 per acre in the most heavily populated areas of the eastern US. You'll probably have a great opportunity to shoot many more of these for the next few weeks. Nice composition and light. regards, CG
