About Here is the closer shot of the dempsey fly, as "hinted" :> Not much composition compared with the previous, but can see more details of the fly.
Hope you like this closer shot !

Thanks for your comments.

I'm using mid-range DOF... I'm just few inches away from the inset. The closer we get to the object, the DOF become more critical (can get out of focus easily)... this is what I experienced on my lens... Just like the grasshopper I took :>

Thanks for visiting and hope you can give your comments for my future pictures. Appreciate them.

Cheers ! Bobby

So attractive macro shot because of it's good harmony of colors, but why Maximum DOF?! it belong to minimal Dof!

Hi Vincent, thanks for your comments...

I like this 105mm Macro lens... I use this for macro shot and portrait shot more often.

My len distance to the fly is just few inches away and the DOF and focusing is very critical. I paid lots of attention to the focusing...
and needs lots of patience too... sometimes after setting and just about to take the shot, the fly flew away :

Cheers ! Bobby

I was choosing between this lens and the one I now use (24-85/2.4-4.0). I needed an alround lens though but when I tried out the one you use here it was great!

This pic is just super. I can't complain about anything except the focus and that the insect's a bit dark. Focus seems a tad off. The focus point is the insect's head and is what I'm referring to. Great background color and even though the insect's head's a bit dark it has a great blue color nicely complemented with the red er... tail? :)

wow! i retract my statement on the previous version. i like the close-up much, much better. the colors are so much more intense and textures more palpable. although on this one there is a very slight softness on the red portion of the tail, but that is just the compulsory nitpick ;^) excellent photo!!

take care,
tom
