About Thanks to my friend noting the names of the plants, I can tell you that this is a Bracteantha. The petals, once open, is as hard as dried paper. Very interesting flower and I had great fun shooting it.

nice flower Linn.
Any protea flowers growing in your place?
Guess they only grow in the Cape!
Echinacea is another flower, very much used here as a healing herb.
Nice flower, but i dont know were it grows.

Hi Amna,
I suppose we do, but I think every country has it's own wealth of indiginous flowers and plants and what might seem weird and wonderful to you, could just be "run of the mill" for me.

When I look at the exotic florals from other UseFilm photographers, I am envious that we don't get them here, or at least we don't get to see them easily.

John Barclay is coming to shoot the Namaqualand daisies later this year. I am hoping that he will have a good trip and post his stunning images of this incredible phenomenom when a desert turns into fields of colour, as far as the eye can see.

You did a great job with this one, too, Linn!
Vibrant colours and pin-sharp focus!
Kind regards, Chris

Linn,

This is a breathtaking shot. The composition is excellent and the flowers are perfect. On top of all that, catching the water drop is amazing.

Regards,
Anne
