About Third (and last) in a series of tripod mounted long exposures taken on the night of May 16-17th, 2004. As in the first one, the telescope and I am in red. During this exposure, a woodchuck, or some other woodland creature set off the motion sensor at the back of the building in the right of the image. I was not amused by this intrusion of light... This exposure was one hour long.

Very pretty colors. I guess the light in the center over the trees are lights from a city nearby?? Also I was wondering why some star trails are blue, some yellow and some white? This has nothing to do with doppler shifts in the freq., does it?

Guido,

Yes, the star in the center of the circles is Polaris. It is not exactly at the North Celestial Pole, so it also trails in an arc. But it is a very small arc compared to the rest of the sky.

awesome.........
I am very interested in the galaxy, but haven't figured it out yet.
Question:What would be te star (top left) in the centre of the circel that did not move in this picture?
Could it be north-Poolstar(allways same position in the sky)

Wow this is really interesting, I like it very much! So original, and a lot to think and feel while looking at it. What if time could REALLY be slowed down like this... imagine... wow!
