About
From my large collection of photographs devoted to Melbourne's lanes, will it see the light of day. It will be a while with the next two years of my life "booked" out with other major planes. Unfortunately I don't have access to all my photographs for at least another year.
To answer your question Roger: "What's with the lack of access"? All my negs and large collection of works are in storage in Australia until I return. I'm not sure when I will be going back, but it will not be for at least another year. Being an artist in Australia is a realatively easy place to survive on bread and butter per day to make it it's another story. If I return I will gather some more works to take along with me to the next place - Japan or Korea. I fortunately brought a good collection of photographs with me thinking that I would be able to find some market in Korea to get rid of them. I soon discovered after getting here that such an art market is more or less non-existant here. People here have no interest at all in fine arts here. I thought Australia was a hopeless place to flog an artwork for a penny. I think here would be most difficult. In Busan where I'm living with 4 million inhabitants there is only one major commercial contempoary art space, it exhibits mostly the establishment of Seoul's highly respected artist. The odd exhibition which appears here even with a corporate backer are poorly exhibited. I have been to about 4 public photographic exhibition here, none of the pictures were behind glass. Its some how perfetic but really the only creative things people do here when their not working is to go shopping.
