Your key (primary) light source is quite low. It seems as if you used a window? Usually a good choice, since it's a diffuse light source.

You could have added a fill light to the right, to reveal some additional detail on that side.

With the lasso-tool I drew on the (her side)left side feathered the selection and clicked on fill-lighten-etc...
Dodge-tool for the eyes to lighten more up, highlighted eye-detail and lips(reflection of natural light).
Darkened the area where the hear reaches her skin with the burn-tool.
With PhotoshopCS in 3(+/-)minutes.
It could have been done a lot beter of course.
I hope this info is usefull.
Grtz,

Alain

It would have looked more like this( I took the liberty for a quick change of your image).

I like this portrait as being straight forward and natural.
Considering the lighting you could have used a reflector, so light would have bounced back on Tina's face. The reflector would have been on her left side( or your right side). Or lighten the darker sides up with an appropriate program.
Grtz,

Alain
