Hi Eric, In all fairness, I think the exposure of the 430185 photo is more balanced than this one, which seems a bit underexposed to me. Maybe that has also to do with the evening / settings itself, as the edges of the buildings do fade into the background, leaving only the lights clearly visible. This removes the elements and individual shapes which come out better in Edmond's shot. The smaller aperture you used may create a better DOF, but at that distance, I doubt if that would make a big difference. Did you use any exposure correction + or -?
Either way, i like this view, very impressive and a sight I'll never forget...
Cheers,
Hugo

you link doesnt work now, so i can't see your previous image. i have to say, i think this shot is way too underexposed, at least on my monitor. you may want to consider shooting a bit earlier in the evening, just as the sun has gone down and you still have a little bit of daylight left. i have a feeling this shot was taken quite late at night, many of the lights in the buildings have been turned off.
look at my portfolio for similar shots and you can compare.
best of luck ~ james

This one is nice Eric. it's colorful & lively. I agree with Ciprian regarding the apperture setting. However, I just reviewed your camera specs and confirmed f8.0 as the smallest apperture and 8sec longest exposure. Try it again at dusk time. You might be able to capture better effects in such time due to your camera capability. Just my opinion. I'm also new in photography. Go shoot and try it. Thanks for your comment on my "In meditation" -- joey

Ciprian,
Thanks so much for your honest comment. I myself also like the other one. I will be thrilled if I get kind of result. You know, my camera only goes to f8.0 aperture and 8 second shutter speed the most. Can I still get kind of result with such specification? Please advise. Thanks. --Eric

Eric,
I have to say I like the other one better. Not sure about the exposure on the other shot, but 2 seconds I think is too short. I would try to use a longer exposure and smaller aperture f/11
Regards, Ciprian
P.S. Beautiful view by the way
