About As many of you know...Much of the mid-atlantic section of the US has been overtaken by these "once every 17 years" Cicadas. Well guess what...they have had thier way for over a month, and are finally beginning to die off. Sorry to piss off you bug lovers, but the dead ones are my favorites. I will move before 2021 comes around.

Amen Brother!!. They make me sick too. Open the car window an inch and they find their way into it while your driving. Thank God they are almost gone. Impressive photo...

Man, you got your work cut out for you, Steve... I'm not a "bug hater", but my house has been freaking taken over by these six legged freaks. It's a task just getting to my car without stepping on fifty of them. I like them better sucking on roots.

>> sob!<<< Oh the humanity, Brad! I love these cute little buggers, and it pains me to see them dying all over the place.

Nevertheless, a great Cicada photo, Brad.

Maybe I can help you deprogram your dislike for them by 2021? :-)

Best regards,
SteveR

Awww, dead bug. I have just been reading about this phenomenon and although it is very interesting to one who is not subjected to it, I can understand what it must be like to be overtaken by bugs of any sort. I thought our June bugs were a problem, the stupid things fly right at you, but that is nothing compared to the cicadas. The photo is great, from a photographic standpoint, Brad, regardless of the subject matter. I would never be one to judge what should or should not be photographed as I have an inate fear of any kind of censorship. I am an animal lover and if someone posted a picture of a dead cat or dog I would judge the images qualities. This one is crsytal clear, sharp detail and colour, the water drops are excellent, the translucent wings beautiful. A fantastic shot.

Get 'em Brad!
They certainly are NOISY.
They are an annual event in West Texas; don't know anything about waiting 16 years.
