Well seen and felt John.
On this occasion, I find it toughtful to transform a fence into a cross.

Hi Mary Sue. I have a friend over at Fotolog.net who finds and photographs crosses everywhere. He did a whole series of found crosses every Sunday for months on end. While I'm not religious myself, his photos have had an effect on me. I too see them now whenever I am out and about.

The sixtieth anniversary of D-Day seems to have taken on much greater significance than in years past, perhaps because the men are gettting older and this may be their last chance to gather in a big way. I just wanted to do something that symbolized for me my appreciation of the sacrifice so many young men made for the lives we lead today.

I'm not sure if this is a cross, or a fence cropped to look like a cross. No matter, it offers a sobering reminder of what D-Day meant for many.

Your dreamy rendering makes me want to linger a while and think.
