Hi Eric, I thought you were hinting at that. Thanks for showing the original. I think the one you posed sure is an improvement. And as for my "natural thing", this is not too much... The result with the Nik filter you posted can also be achieved in a conventional darkroom (only if you'd used a film, dah!) So even by my "standards" it does still qualify as a photo...;o) There has been a lenghty discussion in the forum about the difference between photography and "digigraphy" about this:

Cheers,

Hugo.

Thanks, good comment! I was hinting on your preference for the "natural thing" with regards to PS! ;o)

Hi Eric, Sorry for what? For trying out new things? That should always be encouraged...;o) In this case, I even think it works quite well in creating a somewhat eerie and ominous atmosphere. The photo has a certain "forbidden forest" feel about it, which adds alot of tension to the shot.

About the framing, I think it's a bit too heavy. The combination black and grey might work, but I would reduce the thickness a bit.

The composition is very well balanced, with the path leading the eye towards the horizon. Very good shot. I wonder what the original looks like. Justf out of curiosity to see what changes to the atmosphere you created. Good job, Very creative.

Cheers,

Hugo

I like how the color of the boots stands out. Moody photo...I like the feeling of it.
