Hi Kristina, very created still life, with a unrivalled timeless quality about it. Good PS work, and a very good composition. I'm not sure if the pedestal on the right adds to the atmosphere of the image, but it fills the image and balances the composition very well. Nice work!
Cheers,
Hugo

Kristina, thanks for commenting on my bird photos. I used to teach courses in film studies, and I showed Chaplin's "Gold Rush" each semester for several years. I read somewhere that the shoe he ate in the film was a prop made of licorice. Anyway, his shoes looked exactly like the ones in your photo. But I bet yours are real:-)

Very great job, Kriss and a very well done job in Photoshop. Very creative picture. It really proves your artistic skill. And I have to agree with other comments too as well, I think this really make me think of Charlie Chaplin, who is one of my favorite actors:) Have a nice day, Kriss:)

Thankyou, Andy! :-) I haven't seen that film... or at least I can't "place" it... I must have seen it as a kid, but don't remember it. Although it must really remind of it, since you are the third person who say's that it makes you think of Charlie Chaplin!

Interesting PS work. The old fashioned, grainy look of this shot reminds me of an old movie, "Gold Rush," a Charlie Chaplin film in which he cooks and eats a shoe that looks very much like one of those in your shot! But that's just a personal reaction, and probably not the mood you were looking for in this shot.

Oh, Emgy... You are so sweet, thankyou! :-)) But seriously, you should take it very easy and not sit and comment because your bones might not heal properly!
Can't you type with your toes? Hihi... just joking! I really wish you to get well soon and don't you DARE commenting my photos until you are healed! Haha I click the "abuse" button if you do it!

hi kristina i've been watching your work for a while since i have got back from my holiday and i have hated not to be able to comment regularly on it. - you must know by now that i am pretty addicted to comments on photos - i had to promise myself this will be the last one for today, cause it's pretty stressing atm. i just couldn't resist cause i think that what you did with the original shot is antastic. great to see you're in a creative mood again. the original is superb but this elaboration is excellent work.love the toning and the grain, which suits the image perfectly wonderful creative work. congratulations. 7+++ thanks for caring - hugs .

Dear Kristina,
great rework of the original composing. powerful color, detail and ancient style. the only thing that irritates me are the hard outlines that some objects have. That looks a tad artificial. It's just a small thing though, your rework is really creative. cheers, thilo
