Hi Thilo, thanks for your comment! You are right, I also had a few shots where the whole athlete was sharp, but I found this one more interesting.

Dear Hermen,
I like this shot a lot despite it's different levels of blur on the athlete. in fact, this adds some more tension to the capture. very dynamic.
Cheers, Thilo

Hi Hugi, good to have you back... Thanks for your comment. In most situations I find the time lapse of the Olympus quite satisfactory, if I press the shutter halfway first. Indeed, for fast action photography it is still a bit slow, maybe I should have used manual focus instead here, as all the cyclists were passing the same point.

Hi Hermen, stunning capture, the motion and dynamism are perfectly captured. Well pulled along, and well composed, too. I think the sharpness is exactly right in the places that are most important: Hands, steer and head. With the rest blurred, the unsharpness only adds to the sense of motion and speed. And with the Olympus c5050z! Impressive! I found it's time lapse too large to really use for this sort of photography. Very well captured!
Cheers,
Hugo

Good picture Hermen: good composition, the cyclist has still room at the left, so you see where he's going. Great motion in this picture.
