I've been thinking how an SLR can help you with precise framing (noting Keith's comment there). RFs are much more "hit-and-miss" when it comes to framing. The D70 might have been made for you! I am grateful to see the context for that lavender shot... a very traditional and quite beautiful context it is, too.

Hi Keith,
I think I need you to come with me when I go out shootin'! :>))
You have, of course, made a very good point ~ I really must be a little more careful with my composition!
Kind regards, Chris

Hi Chris, yet another 'classic' - you have this cottage thing down to a tee !.

One thing I have noticed though, you still have a habit of not checking the edges of the frame. This one has a 3/4 door - minor point but it would take your images to the next level if you could consistently eliminate the small points.

Chris, to me this shot is so balanced. I think it is the perspective of the railings and the eaves line of the house tapering away but having the anchor point of the predominant white gate. Just perfect!

Great composition, really shows the appeal of the thatched cottage in the country.
