This No Rookie series of yours is outstanding! You manage to capture images that are both heroic and very human at the same time.

Antonio, thanks for the comments. This shot was in bright sun light. Never thought about using a flash. Sometimes Africian Americans are difficult to photograph - depending on the background. In the origional shot, his face was almost unrecognizable. I used the lasso feature in PS to pick out and brighten his face.

This is a very nice portrait. It shows a lot from this profession. I just think this could be improved if you had used a fill flash to bring out some more details from his face. Well that?s what i?m saying now but i really don?t know at what distance you were from the subject some other details that could have made you not use a flash.
