Lovely rich colour, real craftmanship in that joinery, built to last but with style never out of fashion.

Thanks for that info Ray. I know what you mean about the interest aspect as I work in timber engineering, but only in the realm of roof truss manufacture. However, during my working life I've read about bridge construction (timber) and it is a science on it's own. Thanks for sharing what is to me a very interesting shot for more reasons than one. Den

Den, Its actually a very intersting bridge from a structural standpoint. The curved beams on the side form a structural arch and continue to the bridge footings, they are also duplicated on the outside of the bridge. I've seen quite a few concreat and steel arch bridges, but this is the first bridge of any size that I've seen with a wooden arch. The entire bridge is built out of redwood by the way. Reguards, Ray

Hugo, Looks like a good idea to convert it to B&W to me. Most of the color in the original version is almost the same tone anyway, maybe I'll try working with it in monochrome, perhaps sepia toned (all i need is the time). Thanks for the comment and the work. Reguards, Ray

Great perspective enhanced by the concertina impression given by the side diagonals acting with the bow of the bridge. Great image! Den

Hi Ray, I like the play of lines and light in this one. It's not so much a game of shadows but more of a combination of the two prior mentioned things. I like the extreme diagonal composition, but keep on wondering if a B&W conversion could've increased the atmosphere, so I had to try it out... (See attached) Nice shot, though.
Cheers,
Hugo

Love the tone and all of the lines. It keeps you moving around. I would just move over to the left so you can see more of the end of the bridge. Keep up the good work.
