Neil, thanks for comment...when i adjusted the contrast to get a high-contrast image,it was over all and thus the almost silhouette look to the foreground rocks..guess i could have selected that area and only used a slight contrast adjustment, but then that was not the look i was going for...appreciate the input, though ;D..best regards, gayle

Wow, what a vision! I like the vignetting and the high contrast, which empahsis the decay.
I can't wait to see this thing restored.

Dear Gayle,

the rework creates a spooky mood here. the ferry looks kind of rusty, even the water does ;-)
very strong contrasts, you reduced details to just outlines. very creative rework. the shifted horizon adds some tension.

Hi Gayle, i too like the look you have given, typical Gayle :) What disturbs me is the bottom - on my monitor i have no detail at all just grey/black with a couple of flecks on it. It's as if you have gone for too much contrast here :(
Typical Neil, always nitpicking :)
Cheers your friend - Neil

It really does a a haunting quality to it enhanced by the stark B/W. Looks like it is plowing through ice covered water. Neat image Gayle.

There is something old/new/crazy/silly/lovely about that ship. Hmmm...maybe the art deco thing. Around that time many airplanes and trains had the same look. That must be a wonderful old gal to wander through....Is there anyway to get it up through the Illinois River?

Like so many of your pictures it has a spooky mystical quality. A ghost ship. Black and white is a good choice for this. Nice job.
