Last week my cousin and I climbed the Volcan de Pacaya, and in the hope of seeing lava we climbed it again today only a week later! Sadly I got very few shots b/c half way to the crater the wind really started to pick up, and a fairly terrential downpour ensued...we made it to the top but couldn't see anything through all the clouds and got soaking wet for the journey back down :( .
In this photo you can see the difference between the volcano's ground and that of it's neighboring mountain. As well as a nice view towards the border of El Salvador.
Great shot, Kess - I love the three framing elements of the lava, green mountainside and clouds centering the attention right on the beautiful quiltwork of the farmland below!
This is just beautiful with the sunlight in the valley and the mountains in the clouds. Great sense of depth. That is a nice contrast between the two mountains, just barely visible. Makes the viewer work a little bit. Viewers like that.
