Yes My friend, I see what You mean.I like the extreme closeup. I guess I really like the texture of the feathers also and this is why i chose to keep the shot with the background.

Hi John, Very nice close up. A pitty the overcast day renders the light a bit flat, but I like the composition and the combination of pink/peach and green. Very nice capture. Looking at such a close up, I always tend to try and close the composition even more, trying to strip the image of the background (see attached) It makes the shot a bit more abstract, and completely different in feeling, and I doubt if it's needed in this case, but I think it was worth the try... )

The pink-reddish color, the bird's hiding its head, you caught the essence of being "Shy" in this photo, John.
As to my "Dolls in a basket", of course they are all of the same mother. It doesn't show on her face, but it is the biggest one, on top.

Great capture - sharp details on the feathers, great look he gave you too. I like your crop - might even be a bit tighter? nevertheless, wonderful to see the beautiful salmon colour of the feathers - that is what a pink flamingo should look like! :-)
