This shot is great! The composition is awesome, and the graininess makes it all the more interesting. The rest of your portfolio is really impressive as well.

This is a great "shadow shot" Gayle. I have a similar one but it does not look much after viewing this one. I like the grainy effect.....is it sand, asphalt or... ?

>>>Costco parking lot <<< !!! :-)

Wonderful, just wonderful, Gayle!

You isolated these shadows so masterfully. The shadows, along with the texture of the paving, make a really beautiful abstract. I'm sure the overall scene was anything but beautiful, but you were able to visualize and bring us that little piece that IS special and uplifting.

Best regards,
SteveR

You didn't waste those two frames, Gayle. You came up with a very good shadow shot.

Amazing what great images are created "on instinct" --- you needed to use up a couple of frames, went looking for something, and found a wonderful subject!

I love it!

Thilo, thanks for encouraging comment..these are not chairs arranged tho'..they are metal shopping carts carelessly returned to the holding stall so i just shot the shadows as i saw them..sometimes i get lucky like that! ;D

Simply perfect. Like pen and ink with a slight blur and grain added for effect. Super minimalistic abstract.

great b/w abstract, gayle. I like those stuff a lot, as they are very simple, but also very effective. you arranged the chairs very well to get some tension into the composing. good job!

Very well seen and shot! Marvelous shadow play. Isn't it funny how we now look for shadows and etc..That's the great thing about this site. It makes you work on various projects.. see things in different ways.
