Great skyscape. I like clouds, vastness, the feeling of space. The tones are a tad too much on the dark side for my taste, I tried a slight push in the midtones and adjusted the bright levels to white.

It's not easy to find a copy in your portfolio I have not yet commented on, dave. Your "Manitoba sky" is one of them. It is well composed, minimalistic , with the cloud playing a major part in filling space. Thank you for commentin on my "Matka player". I used the wide-angle because a. it was on my camera and I was too lazy to replace it and b. because locating the player with the Tele-extention would have made locating the player more difficult. Even with the wid-angle I missed both the ball and one of the player's feet. Regards, Rafi

Thanks, Bill! Yes it is a Canola field, one of the more popular crops here. Dave.

I like the thin line of complementary color in the foreground (Canola?) and the vastness of the sky. We don't have such vast vistas here in RI (except for a couple of sod farms, that arent that colorful). Nicely done.

Hi Dave, nice to meet you here on Usefilm. I just took a look through your portfolio, you have some nice images here. I like the influence of nature in your work, that is something i would like to do more, but i find my mind wandering and myself trying all sorts of different styles etc. What i like about this Manitoba scene is the bold framing allowing me to concentrate on the vast expanse of these prairies. Nice work - Keep it up :) Thanks for your recent comment and best wishes from Switzerland. Neil

Okay Dave. You win. I give up. You have better clouds in Manitoba than we do in Minnesota. No contest!

Great shot! Beautiful field and sky. I like how you kept only a little of the field in the bottom, bringing out the vastness of the sky in Manitoba. I live in Grand Forks, ND and also have an S5000 (just starting out), and have taken shots around GF. Any advice would be much appreciated. Keep up the good work!

Love your composition-rather daring-not too crazy about the yellow border. Cool shot~
