John, you are amazingly consistent in you ability to ferret out colorful abstracts from your surroundings. You have a great body of work that is still building.
Hi John, first of all congratulations on the Photo of the Day... I think that this one is definately eledgible, as well.
It's definately very different, but there are also a few similarities. Mainly in the composition, which is as clean, simple and colourful as most of your other work. The biggest difference is the dynamism and level of abstractness.
Very creative shot, the coated plastic texture is awesome, and the light within the mouse adds to the tension and abstractism. The shallow DOF also works well in emphasising those two effects.
It's not so much the subject that I find intriguing / appealing, though. The composition and division in planes using hues and textures are IMO the key elements. Very creative, and an awesome shot.
