Many thanks for your comment, Neil, and for your honesty re. the frame! I'm an inveterate frame lover and am always looking for new ways to do it. Sometimes I hit, sometimes I miss.
I did have a go a the the high key technique and think I got some way towards it but, sadly, my lack of any German meant I couldn't follow all these steps as I should.
I'm just wondering if there's a tutorial out on the net somewhere.
Kind regards, Chris

Oh come on Chris, you can do better than this :)
Secretly you bought the flowers for yourself so you could have a competition with Linn :)
Nice photo, as always. I find the rotated background a bit too much. I think it would be better just soft and using a part where there are no flowers IMHO. A bit less is sometimes more IMO.

Best wishes and many, many thanks for your kind comments. PS Have you tried the high key yet? could you understand it?

Neil

Chris, you shouldn't paint yourself into a corner over your "about" comments. Personally I often find them refreshing, sometimes illuminating... but your pictures are usually strong enough to speak for themselves. Try a few minimalist "about" comments to give yourself a change of pace. Wouldn't do to have writing them become a burden... Same goes for frames. Forgive the cheeky, interfering comment!

Pretty clever with the border. It's about time you brought flowers home instead of more pictures. Very nice Chris. Don.

I specially like the frame, Chris, but the flower isn't bad at all!

Beautiful Chris, lovely shot, sounds as though you need some flowers as well, as soon as I can get to post something I will send you one.
Hope you are both doing okay,
Margaret
PS Thanks to you I got flowers too

Stupenda immagine anche la composizione è ammirevole.
Le punte dei fiori sembrano tanti spilli che luccicano al sole.
ciao Davide

Magnificent Chris, unique and fabulous framing also. Think it must be the hot weather today Chris, seems to be draining us all. Back on 12 hour shifts over the weekend too :-(
Looks like your idea of a UK Usefilm meetup is a winner, lots of people asking about it on here. I can probably pick up a couple from up here and drive down to meet :-)

very nice, Chris. Bit unusual from your ealier work. The framing and presentation is excellent.

Well done.

Hope Carole has recovered from her surgery.

Hang on, Lori! I wrote "brought", not 'bought'!!
Actually, my mum bought them, I just brought them back from the shop!!
But?
I have bought her loads since she's had her op., and I do normally buy her flowers on a regular basis. So my halo's still shining!
