Hello Alan,

Man, you really nailed this one. Got to be one of the better shots of this moth that I've seen. Excellent work.

Excellent capture, I love the colours and details here.
I've seen this kind of "flying lobster" before, but haven't got any capture of it >_<

Took the loupe out of the plastic and only this lens goes into the Hama.

real good sharp shot,
looks like you dont need a home made lens.lol
I was taking pics with a loupe in front of the 50mm1.8 lens and it was good but too little dof.
I could come much closer to object and focus.
Than I got this hama 2x convertor from my videocamera, but found that it was useless, because colour distortion.
I took it apart and took the lenses out.
Now I managed to install the loupe in the front of this Hama body and attached to a lens, the loupe is about 6 to 7 cm away from the attached lens.
This seemes to work perfectly getting more dof,but I need to stop down to f8 or more to capture an insect.
The loupe is a very cheap one. (bold lens at both sides).
I can focus any old way, infinity or the other way.
I just move the camera to focus or manual focusring at the same time.
Can't use autofocus, because the attached lens is too heavy and it will damage the canonlens.
Having fun now.
Best regards Guido.

I love the clear wings. I wondered what the insect looked like. Nice work.

Wow! The pose really captures a lot about its behavior and appearance. The light looks a little harsh though especially on the flowers. Can you catch these guys without flash, or is that an impossibility?
