Well Richard ..... I blame the whole thing on the scan.... the slide is perfect ..can see threads in sail and detail on boats deck..... I have not mastered the scan technique .. maybe soon .. but not yet.. ( agood slide shooter ) .. indeed. :))
~~~~~~~~~~ Warm Regards ...... Bill
I like your idea of a diptych and, of course, I love sailing pictures. You won't like the rest of my comments. Ektachrome 400 was never a great film IMO, and after the scan you were left with some detail in the highlights (a good slide shooter always at least got the highlights) but with no shadow detail wahtsoever. Part of it may be the screen resolution which is only 202 pixels in the short dimension. I do like your concept and the good action shown.
The first time we meet on the pages of "Usefilm" and you already made me your friend! I thank you for that, it is a first for me and of course I reciprocated. Your "Close quarters ....... replacement photo" is of special meanig for me as an Israeli, as sailing is one of the projects in the upcoming Olympiade for Israel winnning a gold medal. Having seen your face, I think it fair that you see mine as well. It is to be found on www.drspringmann.com side by side (unfortunately) with some information concerning a psychoanalytic book I recently published with the non mental-health professional also in mind, a book that might or might not be of interest to you. Thank you for your warm, detailed comment on my "Into the unknown". It shows the model of a ship bought on Mauritius on a visit to a concentration camp on that Island in which my wife, Rachel, was interned from age 3 to age 8 by the British. When you indicate that you are ready to receive an e mail from me, I'll send you my English translation of stories she wrote about her stay there after her memories from that period were aroused by our re-visiting the Island. Regads, Dr. Rafael (Rafi) Springmann
Absolutely beautiful Bill....I especially like the contrast found between the sails and the hulls, almost a pastel neon effect..if that is possible, lol........Gloria
