About Another in the Wells Cathedral series and one that threw up a particularly tricky problem!!

As you can see from the top-right-centre section of the lower pipes, there was harsh sunlight streaming through a massive window to the left which burnt out areas of the woodwork and, indeed, the upper, larger set of pipes. This 'light damage' can be clearly seen in the original, untreated version of the image which I shall load up below.

So what I had to do, (and it you look really closely you'll see it!!), was to copy the right hand section of pipes, that were unaffected by the light, flip the copy over, and then make sure it all joined up?

Now the joins look pretty reasonable, (even on the hi-res version), but what gives away the repair?

Answers on a post-card to?

Despite this slight defect I hope you enjoy the image!!

Best regards to all,

Chris

Got it in one, Craig!!
When I flipped the pipes to make the repair I noticed that the highlights were now on the wrong side of the pipes!! Aaargh!! Still, on this lo-res version it's quite difficult to spot so I thought it was worth an upload anyway, just so that folks could see what a magnificent sight it is!!
Kind regards, Chris

Hi Chris; a beautiful architectural composition-- love the lines a detail. I wouldn't have noticed what you did in PS if you hadn't explained-- but since you did..... I think the pipes on the left lack highlights in the right places, ie lighting on both sets of pipes isn't quite consistent. But I say Nice work anyway. Cheers. Craig
