I did not take this shot, however it seems to me to be worthy of a spot in U/F. The aircraft is a Hawker Fury which has come to greif on landing on a carrior, Possibly during the Korean conflict.
Why is this pilot lucky? well his aircraft could easily have gone over the side and he would possibly hove drowned, He could have been injured in the crash and been unable to get out of the cockpit, As it is he appears unhurt and knows that at this very moment the crash crew are racing to his aid with foam extinguishers. many carrier crashes end with the plane upside down giving the pilot no chance at all. I maintain he is a lucky man.
I agree with Lotte, the picture is really really wonderfull, strong impression and a picture with a message, however, i also don't see why the pilot is lucky. Or is he becose he survived the crash?? The frame however doesnt really adds something to the picture, without a frame it mabe looks better. But no hard feelings, still it is a wonderfull photo. My compiments!! Greets, Lex.
