Nice shot, while I am not sure about the position of your painful feet. It is also very impressive that you took photos as soon as you got home, like you were thirsty or had to feed the cat etc. :)

Karen, I can only be happy because of your appreciation, as well as I am for all the remarks I get. I would be thankful also for the less positive critics :), because I can only learn out of it!
thank you again! I have my eyes on your work :)

Eva, I give you my greatest compliments on your very original and outstanding composition. You have managed to turn an ordinary event into something so stunning. I really like the way the shoes are positioned in the image, were the top of one shoe is cut off at top, while the bottom of the other is cut off at the bottom. What makes this unique to me, is that you have included the feet. While if you had shot just the shoes themselves it would be a feeling of emptiness. Here it has a feeling of wanting to be free-all in one image with something that happens everyday as would otherwise be ordinary. Very well done, wonderful use of creativity~

eva...

i think this shot is really cool. i like the tones, the shadow/light play and the composition. i'm not sure about the toes in the lower left corner. i'm going back and forth on that.

my only real criticism is that they are probably not the best shoes to be going out for a long walk in.

Thank you Eva, I may be 'old in business' but this style and genre is all new to me - mostly since May of this year. I was a landscape and nature shooter in the Ansel Adams tradition for years. Bores me now and I find I want to express myself more and explore emotions and experiment. If you really love depiction of emotions, there is no better than Karen Clarke (see http://www.usefilm.com/browse.php?mode=portfolio&portfolio_id=4303) at capturing emotion using self portraits. I think she has one of the finest portfolios here and is one of the most talented.

Very well done. Most would have used color, you made the right decision, in my opinion. Keep up the good work. Welcome to Usefilm.

well yes, Jeff, Im fresh around here!
just right after posting the photo, I've started to see all the "wrongs" in the pic :)
well, after all, Im just exercising and of course I need to know other people's opinion.
I've recently discovered what a great pleasure is to catch emotions on images.
Saw your portofolio. Very proffesionally done! I can tell you are 'old in business' :)
thanks again for welcoming me!
