thanks, karen. I love reading about how you respond to photos - it's so great that you share with us your feelings around viewing a piece & what it stirs up for you. I also have responses like that to work that i see & feel pulled to, but i'm not in the habit of putting words to it - so you've inspired that in me as well. To make me question myself: "what's happening for me when i see this piece, how am i responding & why, what feelings, images, ideas does it provoke...." Not that i go through a list like that but i find myself considering those ideas more now than i have or at least taking the time to put those feelings into words & experience. So, thank you! i find it takes me deeper into a piece, with more understanding & depth to what it means to me. I really appreciate your responses & comments! :O)
Okay, so we are now venturing into the land of nightmares...This very much brings to mind the nightmare before christmas by Tim Burton-the way the characters were formed in the movie. Well, I haven't seen but a few parts of it, but the colors and the arms of the thistles made me think of it. Not so sure if this is a nightmare, more of a "trippy" dream-confusion of the mind, etc. Well done-a nice contrast to the other bright beautiful flowers~
