About Camera on tripod. Bulb exposure with remote switch. I let the train come towards until it was about 100 yards away while the shutter was open. Then I put my hand in front of the lens to protect from the light. I uncovered the lens right before the train's lights were out of the frame. I then let the train go by for a few seconds to create the blur. Then I closed the shutter. This pic is completely unaltered...

Yes Miles, I agree so much with the freakin radical beam across the top. It makes me want to do my happy dance. I'm still super stoked about your train pic. It is one of the coolest pics that I have ever seen. Seriously. I want to see the enlarged version. I'm super excited to set up tripods on top of the railroad crossing beam that we sat on. That is going to be so gnarly that I might have to just wet my pants over and over while we are taking pics from up there. Hopefully no coppers catch us...

It turned out great just like I said it would but what makes it for me is the beam above to be honest, at first I didn't even notice the train I just saw that freakin rad beam. very nice shot Jesh. Lets hit the highrise above the street next.
