About Tricky exposure. The outline of her hair is fully filled in but everything else is quite thin on the negative...

Brilliant portrait of a person, a moment, an age and a feeling.

Evidently a difficult print but you have done a good job to maintain the softness.

Best wishes, Jonathan

Speaking of difficult exposure Stephan, found this guy recently, great portfolio.
Love to know what you think, I'm wondering how on earth to emulate it.

The illuminated side is towards a lake. There are some trees between the path and the lake but it may be what we see since it is all dark forest on the other side.

I was thinking in the incidental light there is a fairly big source creating a shadow from her left that accidentally but usefully produces the defintion.

Ian - No reflector there, but I sure could have used one...

beautifull capture dear Stefan... her movement freezed in time in a most unique way... the contrast between the hair and the face is amazing... and the grains adds so much to it... a little fairy dancing in the woods... amazing!!!

PS: my camera also stops at 1600... and yes..3200 is always fun to experiment with... regards.. emy

Intersting how her face is lit. Is there a large reflective thing to her right. Beautiful movment.

Hi Carlheinz - 3200 film becomes an extra challenge when your camera stops at 1600 :-) I'm with you on film vs digital on this one.

Hi Paula - it certainly was the light on her hair I was after. What I did not realize at the time was that the difference in value on her hair and on her face was so very large.

Excellent, Stefan! Do something like that wih digital! No way!!! Love the result. The trick part with 3200 is the light metering. Love the result!!!
