Namastee'!, Duane!
nice meeting You!!!
guess we both have the same profession, Journalists, yes, inded! i am also a 'Media & Broadcast' univ. professor as well... *wink* i have met nice people from Goa and a lady Doctor from Calcutta that shared with me some of her Routine practicing Social Medicin... which was very comforting and inspiring! --Congratulations, Duane! it is often nice to hear from people who take their Destinies on their hands and work the best out it... but never forget about their Family roots. i admire You, Duane. keep up the good work and thinking on helping, whenever You feel possible, the ones back home. It may not bring You a Noble Prize, nor a Pullitzer... but will sure make the difference to the lives You will be able to touch and help change for the better! i feel that way helping the orphans back in my home town. this is the only successful experience i am thrilled to share with You, Dear... about my Routine?!? ...travelled a lot, seen a lot... and that surely made me broaden my perspectives and be able to focus to what i could grasp within my reach. *wink*
Thanks for Your generous visit to my Portfolio. it was a pleasant surprise!
my Compliments to "Peace Guitar", "God's light comes in", "what's he thinking?" and "the transition"! ... all superb shots!!!

hiya, Steve!
Thank YOU for visiting my POrtfolio, my Friend! ... always a smile of happiness on this side of the screen when i see You, Steve! Thank YOU!
yes, the Guaiba island is unique and we learned so much! the students and i saw some local type of pork, one huuuuuuuuuge lizard - like the ones found in the Galapagos Islands in the Pacific - and a mix of wolf and wild dog... plus a number of butteflies and humming birds!
the railroad You can see brings from the states of Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo some minerals/ stones as seen in gigantic piles down bellow near the sea shore.
the Atlantic forest has also an emerald green and is so rich in colours.... too bad it was an overcast day!
my Compliments for "Concerned Looks !" that made me and my parents smile today, Steve... Thank YOU for sharing!!!

VISITA TÉCNICA À MINEIRAÇÕES BRASILEIRAS REUNIDAS
REALIZADA EM 01/04/2004, INÍCIO ÀS 8:00 HS. LOCAL: ILHA DE GUAÍBA ? MANGARATIBA ? RJ.

M.B.R. is located on Guaiba island.
M.B.R. stands for Brazilian Mining Reunion, or something close to that... They hold wonderful environmental Projects, as the one called "boto cinza" that deals with 200 dolphins that are monitored to live healthy and enjoy Sepetiba Bay with it's warm emerald green waters (due to the presence of algies)!
M.B.R. also hold Projects in reforesting to help maintaining Preserved Areas, a Marine Farm with shrimp and lobster that are introduced back to the environment, Environmental Educational Teaching Center and helps recuperate old buildings found in the area that can found at: http://www.mbr.com.br/
