Priceless expression :) The crags and lines in the gentlemans face makes this ideal for black and white capture. Well done my friend.

Hello Khaled,
Sorry for my slow response to you. I think you have the correct ideas for your image. Also the information is there to make produce a good result.
I have taken the liberty of attaching your image with some minor alterations in photoshop. Just 3 things:1 sharpen (is always necessary), 2 adjust the contrast and levels for personal taste, and 3 lighten the midtones and highlights for the eyes.
This result you may not like, but you may find interesting. Pls excuse my few skills, I am not a PhotoShop worker(!) I am a 'traditional' photographer. best wishes, John.

What an amazing portrait, Khaled - the tones and detail are lovely, and the shepherd's expression is terrific! Beautiful work.

This is a face that tells a story...what a grat shot. I like the colour version as well, and can't make up my mind as to which I like better. Both are excellent.

I agree with Ameed.. he smiles warmly at you from his heart. You can't mistake that for anything other than what it is.. a happy moment!

:)

I don't even know him I could image his laugh.

I'd go with the saturated version.
Nice work !

Thanks John for your nice comment.
I agree with your suggestion about lighting the eyes, but for the one on the details in the top right hand corner of the original image I didn't crop it, it's just a matter of changing the contrast of the image after desaturation made this part more white, that was not intentional.
Here is the image only desaturated and I tried to lighten a little his face, is that OK.
Looking forward to receive from you more and more helpful comments on my captures.
My best regards,
Khaled.

Hello Khaled. I do prefer the B&W version (and I am biased). I do think it draws out the character that you have captured so well in the subject better.
This is a very good image. I wonder if I may make two small suggestions that could be of benefit.
Lighten the eyes a little, this will give it a lift and more impact. Bring in the detail of top RH cnr of the original image, just to stop the eye wandering out of the image at this point.
Hopefully you are not offended by my making suggestions, I think it is an image worth spending the time upon.
best regards, John.

Hi chad,
Yes, the man (who is a shepherd) had a good sense of humour and you can feel this also in the other photo "Friends" when he asked to take a photo with one of his goats. This is the original shot without any PS effects. Let me be informed about which of them is better.
My best regards,
Khaled.

This really does make one smile just looking at it. This guy obviously has a good sense of humor. Stylistically, the black and white is sharp but I am wondering how it would have looked in color. Great work here Khaled!
