A man in Saskatoon was recently sentenced to 90 days in jail for handing a joint to another person. Does this strike anyone else as a complete and absolute waste of the criminal justice system resources and of tax dollars in general? Meanwhile, the man who used a home made bat to beat a randomly-chosen stranger to death (for kicks, basically) on a city sidewalk one night a few years ago did less than 18 months. Does this strike anyone else besides me as a little outrageous? We're sending out a clear message here - "Don't come to Saskatchewan, folks - stupid people live here." Sigh.
