About Subject Background: Speeding up the postings a bit as I will be off the next week. This fair picture (scanned with Nikon Coolscan LS4000) is dedicated to Kevin Collier (http://www.usefilm.com/photographer/14835.html) and Carlheinz Bayer (http://www.usefilm.com/photographer/30360.html), two UF members who show a very special world through their lenses which you definitely should check. Their works inspire me a lot.

Photoshop concept: Desaturation, increase of middle tone contrast.

As always: Honest feedback highly appreciated.

Very good composition. Desaturation creates a sad ,moody atmosphere. Feels like the season is gone and every body has left with the taxis. the wheel, the magnificent is alone.

Keep up the good work.

Dear Antonio,

thanks for the honest words. I see your point but I'm not sure how to avoid contrast without sacrificing impact...

Antonio Trincone   {K:23167} 9/23/2004
as for previous shots from you I noticed some richness in contrast which is too high for my personal taste and here againg I see a beatiful, very gorgeous perspective used; some details is lost for the contrast to be so high, it seems funny words (usually is opposite) but here what I dislike is exactly this

Dear Teunis,

thanks for the honest comment. =)
I guess there are different views on the topic of more natural shots versus digital reworks. But I can fully understand your point of view.
take care,

Hi Kev,

unrealness is the word I searched for ;-)
my fave is the sign that says "Taxi - Warteplatz" (means taxi station) =)

If everything's going fine, I will go near Venice. It's about 6-7 hours by car. Hope the weather is better than in Good Ole (Cold?) Germany.

Right back at ya, Thilo ... we insipre each other in so many small and large ways ..

Fantaiastic and surreal -- love the treatment of the whole image especially the sky -- the wide lens perspective adds to the feeling of unrealness (is that a word?. I especially like that little crown on top the sign in bottom center.

Have a great vacation. Where to??

Kev
