About Exploring the back roads around Stokeinteignhead with my Nikonian friend, when we stumbled on what can only be described as an old boat's graveyard! Quite a sad sight to see these once proud vessels riddled with holes and with their paint peeling off! Made a nice picture though, looking across the river towards Bishopsteignton.

Great service this morning, despite my PowerPoint programme quitting part way through! Managed to get it going again and carried on regardless but then, right at the very end, it decided to freeze completely! Must get an e-mail off to Bill Gates in the morning and get him to sort it out! ;-)

I hope you're having a good Sunday ~ I'm just off for a quick snooze before the evening service. I'll be back to catch up on your latest uploads later this evening.

Till then?

Best regards,

Chris

Hello CHris, great shot - the textures and colors captured are both well suited to the overcast, but still well lit scene.

Well framed shot with beautiful saturated colors. You can almost feel the texture of the weathered wood.

This was a wonderful find Chris, and you've done an excellent job of photographing it-- AND, my kind of photo-- wish I had taken it. The turbulent and angry looking sky goes very well with this old fishing boat. Composition is wonderful w/ the boat pointing diagonally into the frame, and the light on the land in the distance lends perspective. Very nice. Cheers. Craig

WOW.................. superb capture, Chris!

Thanks for visiting the Serie dedicated to Peace!
...done with four hands - not as Your Nikonian Friend and Yourself that was able to meet face to face - since i couldn't make the trip to Yugoslavia myself... so i asked Biliana to take the shots and i had some PS work and submission in our behalf! *wink*

my Best,
Regi

Hi Chris, Something different, but definatley a beauty. The wreck with the pealing, but still bright paint and the patch of sunlight in the shoreline is just gorgeous. Very good shot, and a well balanced composition.

Cheers,

Hugo

Makes you wonder why they leave these old wrecks on the beach. Nicely composed and great detail. Don.

Geeeeee...you're busy on Sundays!! ;-) I'm not going to church...but I keep God busy the rest of the week though... ;-)
This is a sad sight..the boat..it always makes me feel sick when I see this...scarry...YUK!!!
What I do like is..the sunny spot in the background...it makes such a contrast to the boat..and the dark beach!! Real great...did you do this in purpose????? ;-)
Hugs..take care..

Knew this was one of your from the thumbnail Chris. It looks brilliant :-)

Exceptional work - the wreck in the picture reminds me of what I will look like in 14 hours time after my first nightshift lol

I hope your evening goes better ;-)

Best wishes,
Steve

Ah, the joys of modern technology, Chris! However the flip side of that is this wonderful photograph of yours! A nice find, and you've captured it excellently in your composition. The dark sky just adds to the brooding atmosphere and sense of desolation and abandonment of the scene.
Well done, Chris!
Dave.
