Great Black & White photo Howie. I really like her unselfconsciousness. Nice dark tones and texture of her freckles. Thanks, db

Love the intense gaze and dark tones. There do seem to be some hot spots on her face, but maybe that contributes to the dramatic feeling of the photo. Nice.

Thank you amanda for the kind comment. I've been lazy with this photo and scanned in the photograph instead of the negative. I've just started to scan the negatives in and it looks so much better with the neg. Thanks again

Fantastic dark tones. I love the way this looks - so gritty and natural.

Thank you for the comment George. If I can remember I think the settings were F6.3 and 1/180 second. Around 50mm of the zoom. Not quite full open as the lens opens up at F4.5 at 85mm.
Thanks again

An excellent portrait. I admire the tonal qualities here and the precise focus on her eyes. What was the aperture, if you recall? I would guess it was wide-open.
(If you are "coming from a photographic background which is mainly digital, trying to learn and work with film," I am headed in the other direction. Both are wonderful technologies.) Regards, --george
