I prefer the sepia version (maybe I?d like it better with less brightness, though) - it fits the title so well. Excellent composition!

Hello Patrick,

Thanks for your comment. I took all these street shots during my summer vacation which i spent in Turkey, and you are right taken from my room's window ;-)

I really like this shot.. both in bw and in color. Great expression and movement from that man.. he has so much to tell.. so much memories.. so much wisdom! Great tones... and light. Did you take this from your window? =) Nice to hear that more then me opens up the window and takes a few shots.. hehe!

This one is a 7++ if i could rate!

Cheers and keep it up!

Well, here's my two cents . . . I prefer the b&w to the color because the picture is not about the scenery . . . it is making a statement that is better shown in the stark tones. Maybe the man is just momentarily tired, but he seems heavy and eyes down, not taking in the view around him . . . I do prefer the darker version that arwa submitted.
Very nice capture and work, Amna!

beautiful candid image amna, he looks as if he have the weight of the world on his shoulders
Was it too bright to take the image? or u didn?t want him to see u and spoil the minute
I like both the original and the black and white, but maybe u could change the levels so it?s a bit darker? Something like this

Hi Hugo,
Thanks for your comment. personally I like the color one too ;-), first i posted the color but there were too much digital dusts (you can notice the pixel in the blue area), thats why i changed the tone which helped to hide such problem.

thanks
amna

Hi Amna, Thanks for posting the original; it gives a good reference to what you did to the image. Although I like both, I wonder why you converted it to a ligthish sepia version. As the original shot is already good, why not leave it in colour? I think sepia, B&W or monochrome is a very effective tool in creating a specific mood or atmosphere, but I don't quite see how that is applied in this case. In other words, I believe sepia is a tool with which a good photo can be created, but its not a guarantee for a good photo, nor for an atmosphere.

That's why I prefer the original. Good shot, though, very well composed.

Cheers,

hugo
