I agree, people here are generally very nice. Perhaps too nice sometimes. I genuinely welcome constructive criticism and look for ways to improve my portfolio.
Took me a while but I also got a bit frustrated with the 1 photo a day and have become a donor. I think its worth it for the service that's provided.
Looking forward to seeing more of your photos.

Hey Neil,
I just joined the site yesterday and became a donor today. As a non-don you only get to post 1 photo...
Although, I will say that after seeing the amazing work on this site (people are SO talented) I am a bit intimidated. The up side is how INCREDIBLY nice everyone is on here. People are so helpful. I hope you have had the same feeling.
I will puruse my collection and see what else I will upload. So many to decide on. :) Again - very new to the whole photography gig so be kind but please feel free to critique, it's the only way I learn.

Many thanks for the comments. Had a look at your portfolio. Would be good to see some more of your work. Don't worry if it's not what you consider to be your best - I'm learning lot's by posting all sorts. Some are just experiments, some things I like, and others are just random pics I think othersmight like to see.
I'ts good to get constructive criticism and I'm going to repost some critiqued images to see if it's paid off.

I like the picture even more because of the border. Very nicely done - pulls out the color of the needles that would have been nearly lost without it.
