I wonder what this place will look like over a year. I think mother nature will do her best to make it look green again. Now the autumn time is here and trees are loosing their leaves all over, but it is not sad at all to me.... just a period of rest before the young green will come again. Beautiful capture and great composition!
greetings,
Diana.

Unfortuanely this scene is universal. We've see it not only here but also in California. This does not diminish the beauty of the photo as such.
I was on a three day convention of group-therapist and then on the presentation of my wife's book in Kiriat Motzkin, hence I'm late in commenting and thanking for others' comments and I'll use this photo to thank you for all your comments I have not thanked you for yet.
On the other hand, I'll send you my impression of the group meeting and two of my wife's short stories from her book. translated by me with the help of an English speaking acquaintance.
Shalom,
Rafi

good job Zeef i love the borders. some might say that dead or dormant trees are moody in a directin other than the possability of "new LIfe". I am encouraged by your posative attitude... truly it is a matter of perspective!! Bryan

Very cool shot, Zeev! I think you've done an excellent job illustrating the message in your 'about' Wonderful how the shaded backs of the trees at left are against a lighter sky, and the sunlit face of the trees at right are against a darker sky - both highlighted in their own way! (I'm guessing you used a circular polarizer?) Very nicely done!
P.S. Thank you for the honor of adding me to your friends list!

Hi Zeev, I tried to comment on this photo yesterday but the site wasn't being very cooperative with me. It would hang up and not let me get to the comment area. Wonderful photo, the detail and composition are excellent and the story behingd the picture as well. Great job and good work.

Hi Zeev, A sad sight, but very well captured. I like the presentation with the burned edges, but the line below and on the right are somewhat redundant and distracting. It removes the attention from the image, which is a pitty, as the shot is very good; I like the low camera position. Well captured.

Cheers,

Hugo

Your creativity never ceases to amaze me, Zeev. This, like all your work, is beautiful and meticulously done. It is too bad about the fire, but the upside is, a fire permits new growth.

Sin lugar a dudas estos arboles deben ser productores de algun fruto. ?Nogales, Limones, Naranjos, Damascos ? No parece que sea ninguno de ellos. Que son entonces...?

You often post very powerful images and this is enhanced by the charred frame giving it a slightly sinister feel.
The sprouting grass in the foreground leads us to hope as does the overall brightness of the image and sky.
As ever- beautiful!

Zeev, I understand where you are coming from. Where I live we have the largest citrus orchard in the southern hemisphere. And due to the inconsiderate actions of nearyby orchards we have been contaminated with citrus disease. We have had 1000's of acres of citrus trees quarantined and burnt. This has been going for a few months now and they have just discovered another outbreak. So to see this beautiful trees burnt due to someones selfish negligence is just heartbreak. It has cost us millions of dollars. So I can feel where you are coming from. In your case it will grow back, but in our case....no!!
