About Subject background: Street scene in Karlsruhe, captured without tripod, this time in BW/infrared style. First time that I uploaded two identical images in different styles... but I couldn't resist this time. Which one do you find better?

Photoshop concept: BW Infrared filter.

As always: Honest feedback highly appreciated

Hi Hugo,

great to see that people are really struggling to find the better overall image ;-)

now you can imagine how I was tortured by the decision to upload the BW or color one. the only decision for me was to post both ;-)

thx for the very constructive feedback.

Dear Fadel,

thx for the feedback. okay, you're on the BW side ;-)

Got news from the HDD Lab that they are able to restore 100% of the data - at least mechanically and logically. let's wait & See if every bit is in the right place ;-)

take care,
Thilo

Hi Thilo, Weird to see how the PS work seems to remove the feeling of the materials in the street sign, that are aparent in the colour version. It looks as if the contrast has been pushed a bit too much....

Either way, both of the images are very good.... It depens on the way you look at it; I would normally go for the colour version as it is more natural, but I do like this one as well, mainly because the B&W fits quite well with the atmosphere, and the IR filter does give it an unusual look and feel, if you know what I mean. This time of night (I'm pretty exhausted), I think the B&W one is more appealing, but that could very well change within an hour or so...;o)

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Thilo... As for the tones and composition, this image is very much stronger than the color one... The sense of movement if great here!!! It gives another perspective... As for the light and sings in the background... I prefer how it looks in the color one...

Cheers,

MaLuisa

P.S. As I am not professional at this... I can only provide my feelings of the pictures.. :) Hope my comments help in some way...

Very strong image Thilo! I love this one a lot more than the color version, it has stronger tones. Glad you were able to restore your work!

Thilo, I love this one much more than the other in true color. this adds the whole mood of the urban desperation in an excellent way. I suppose if it would be possible that a different perspective angle sligthly from above would also enhance your message here

Hmm.. i like them both.. they are so good both of them.. hard to choose! I think this one is more dynamic.. but the other one had more details with the colors that helped it. 7++ for this one as well my friend! =)

The BW version is a much stroger image while the color image seems more of a document of the scene. K
