About Subject background: Karlsruhe, botanic gardens, the entrance. A spooky House of User (Poe rocks!), a daring cloud menagerie, creepy beings behind the glasses, some victims lurking around the house... DISASTERS AHEAD.

PS concept: IR, toning, sharpness ;-)

As always: Honest feedback highly appreciated.

What a cool and so beautiful photo! This tilting is so weird, but I love it, it adds some kind of interesting dimension! And the colour tones look great! Cold, but with a sub feeling of mystical warmth. Super!

Hi Hugo,

you're right with the cropping here although it's more a limitation of the lens (or the inability to go some steps away) =)

thx for the analysis, will keep that in mind.

take care,

Very nice capture; great perspective and tones. You have captured the sky really well too. You mamanged to turn an unusual building into a real interpretative piece of art!
Nice work,

Hi Thilo, The three point perspective is very cool in this photo. A bit closely cropped below, but it does add a very ominous atmosphere. Original toning, although I'd think if a greyish brown tone would emphasise the atmosphere. The blue makes it a bit "friendly". Excellent lighting and sky.

Cheers,

Hugo

Really majestic and great. Excellent composition combined with yummy grey tones and clearity. The sky that goes from light to dark makes a brilliant background for the motive, and the person adds a nice human touch. Congrats.

Dear Lucy,

first of all, thanks for the constructive critics here. appreciate that a lot.

Personally, I had some mixed feelings on the bushes/persons "issue". A different viewpoint alone wouldn't help with the 14mm (x 1.5 for D70). The only cure would be a analog shot.

Next time, I will keep the focus idea in mind. no useless crap around the subject ;-)

thanks a lot for the honest words. this keeps me getting better. hope I can do the same for you. =)

take care,
Thilo

vg, uwe

i wish the plants and that guy were in front, but there's nothing you could've done about that. the tones are amazing and suit the feel that you're trying to get after. maybe a shot where you were looking almost 'straight' up perhaps, ie. you were lying on the ground closer to the front of the building? maybe...
