The leaves on the bottom are very colorful and interesting but they compete with the bird. The bird is well posed and placed in the composition. You might consider cropping the bottom. The branches frame the bird nicely. Don.

Hi Mark, and thank you for your comment. You are correct about the lens. It was very late when I posted last night! It was a 200mm, and I used PS to zoom and crop.

Good morning Teresa,
beautiful bird picture. Very well composed (bird in the right place) and whatI consider very important in animal pictures...there is light in the eye of this little beauty. Great shot with the 100mm (160mm digital)lens.The colors are very good, too.
My suggestion is cropping the picture a bit at the bottom.

A 100mm picture of a small bird, hmm, it does not look it, could be a 200mm or even a 300 zoom. How would I know, I never took a picture of one with a 100 mm. Oh, yes I did, with a remote control, the only way I could get close.
Real nice composition and light. I like the inclusion of the red berries and the bird in the rule of thirds. Nice colors and sharp, it's a good job. Excellent.

Beautiful capture of this bird, Teresa! Looks like a Junko, but I'm not quite sure from this angle. Great texture and details, though.
