yes, inner Pain flows out of the image in huge waves that one can't resist but to drown in them... the cig detail impo adds a lot since it is part of the torn situtation one experiences... hang on to the hope the flower offers and at the same time quitting life by indulging in a destructive habbit... exceptional series this is dear Jeff... i would be really proud if it was mine... kisses... emy

Dear Jeff,
I find this series the best of yours until now. I am totally in love with it as it is soooo much on my taste. I was attracted on this one because of the gathering of the two elements - the cigarette and the flower - which is consider to be 2 opposite elements, meaning the purity of the nature and the vice of smoking. Her eyes are saying that she doesn't care anymore about the fact that smoking is harming her body, although she knows that she's causing a damage to herself. more than that, she knows that harimng one's body is way much less than harming one's soul.... I can create a past story ending with this image. brilliant, Jeff! warm regards eva

Patrik, I am disagree with you. I think the cigarette works well in this compasition. The flower itself is boring. It would look traditional (flower, girl, love). If you notice, I did not use traditional symbol of love (rose). I used lily. Just try to imagine both, smell of lily and smell of cigarette... Yulia

The image is fantastic! However, I'd have to agree with Patrick here. The flower alone would have been sufficient in this one. You could also do many other things, such a a crumpled piece of stationary in one hand, like a dear John letter, or a telegram, etc..Many ways to convey this type of emotion. ( A prescription bottle, a book, a bible, a photo, a liquor bottle) depends on what you want to say.

Karen, thanks for the comment, very deep and I'm glad of your interpretation of the photos - Yulia is very happy with your interpretations also because they are in effect what we are trying to convey - Not quite finished yet though........

The cigarette has reached its last leg, as she lets the ashes fall carelessly. Meanwhile she clenches on to the last momento from her love. She has an almost smile on her face, as she tries desperately to hold on to the hope that he will come back to her again. Or is she laughing at herself, for being such a fool for his love? She has no more tears to spare, her eyes have become dried out like her emotions...
