Pat, what a beautiful foto. Yes it has been said already but I must say the mixing of such opposing elements is very effective... the little girl just staring out, heading down the road of life and of course strolling right to the graveyard. Very interesting composition and quite good!

Oh, the carefree life of a child. Oblivious to the world around her. Tiss a very cute shot. Jim Gamble

One could read a lot into this image.. the child, at the beginning stages of life, walking towards the cemetery which represents the end of physical life...and the road between represents the journey that she will take....
the use of b&w adds to the power of the image. excellent work.

I like the path and natural context (who would think a cemetery could be "romantic"?). I kind of wish she and the path weren't as centered in the frame, but that's probably a little nitpicky. Bye.

Very well seen Pat - love the hair!! What a contrast huh - the sweetness of such young life and the cold hard reality of death.

Pat, I was going back through my portfolio and came across a comment you had made on one of my portraits from last year. I wandered over here to see what you were up to and saw this shot and I had to comment on it...
First: I really like this alot! For several reasons-
The title is very appropriate, the composition and framing are great, the irony of a child playing so freely in a cemetary, the tone (from the warming action), all work very well together.
AND it reminds me somehow of that picture of two children running through a break in a hedge (The Secret Garden?). Famous picture and the photographer's name escapes me at the moment...
Anway...
I love the feel of this, good job.
Anthony
btw-the rest of your portfolio is great also! How do you like the 20D?
