Carsten:
No can do on the clone - people here in KC would immediately know it was missing. Besides, I try to draw the line at enhancement rather than elimination or additions. Just a personal preference. The best thing I could think of doing is getting the flag to wave at full spread when I shot it.

One of the best panos I have seen so far. Outstanding. No seams visible, and its a mosaic ! Besides these technical aspects, it has its artistic merits, of course. Awesome lighting and colors, great dramatic sky. Ok, it wouldn`t hurt to clone out the pole, a minor issue for sure. 7+

After a lot of thought, I have to admit that there is almost no possibility I can improve on this composition by the end of the year.

This is a most impressive shot, fantastic lighting and detail. Very dramatic. You must have worked hard at the time to capture it all. Wouldn't have suspected it was stitched from multiple images if you hadn't said so! I'd agree with Michele that if you were making a print to enter into a competition, you'd be wise to remove the pole, it'd be marked own 'cos of that. I say that with great sadness, since I'm a 'real landscape' afficionado, and don't altogether approve of in-PC work! Except stunning panorama-stitching, of course ;-)

Hugo:
I found that by using a tripod, I am able to preview the horizon to make sure I am level. To take the photos, I have a grid in my viewfinder, and I use the vertical lines as the overlap point when I take photos left to right. The result is that the software does a near seamless job of merging. I also have to remember to set the camera on manual settings (and remove my polarizer) so the exposure and F-stop do not change, since a major change in hue or colors will make a goof.
I printed this 10 x 15 inches at 300 dpi and there are no seams. I seem to be getting the hang of this stitching software.

Hi Michael, good to see the UL image in full size... The ominous weather adds an excellent touch to this image. The tones, are, as usual, fabulous, as is the composition. Been scuitining the image to find the various images you used, but couldn't. Very well stiched / edited. Excellent job!
Cheers,
Hugo

This a real good job ! The natural light in conjunction with the color of this scene and the dramatic clouds makes it a very special capture -like it a lot ..

Keep in mind this is a merge of multiple shots - so the final size is 6420 x 3000 pixels, or 19.2 megapixels. The camera only(!) takes 6 megapixels or 3000 x 2000. The camera resolution is awesome though.

Attaching detail from the front of the union station. This image is about 6000 pixels wide, to the point where you can read the time off of the clock inside the station building.
