Thankyou Neil. You are so right. But I am also pleased you could understand why I did it. I appreciate that. In a couple of hours I am uploading an image for you in thanks for your comment here.

Hi Judi, i really don't know how to rate this! On the one hand i think it's a good catch and one that i would have liked to make, on the other hand what you did is EXTREMELY dangerous and no photo is worth risking your life for. There is a good website on weather photography where everything is explained to you. Can't remember the URL but you'll find it in google. Anyway enough raving... i experienced the buzz you mention... Yes i was foolish and tried to record the sound of the lightning. I could hear the zish as it struck just next to me. In the mountains if you feel your hair tingling, your glasses etc. Then stop lie down make yourself as small as possible... a strike is imminent! Please don't take it lightly. Thanks for your comment on my work and best wishes, Neil

Thankyou Roberto. Yes the blur came from a combination of rain and wind. I was in the open.

Thanks heaps my friend. Unfortunately, I couldn't remove the pole in person. It is a little bit to heavy for me. I actually like it there as it represents the rural side of things and the way it supports the other type of electricity. A joining of two modes. Also it was pitch black standing there, so it was difficult to know what would be included in the shot, until after the shot had already been taken. I didn't use any light source except the lightning.

What a nice capture Judi, i like the lights you captured in here, i am keeping this composition in my mind from one year now, still didn't have the time or the right time/storm to do it :) very well done, i only don't like the column in the picture, beside that it is just nice, regards,

Dave, thankyou. They were quite bizarre. I had no idea what I was going to get. It was just press the shutter button and cross your fingers.

Thankyou Den. I am proud of these shots. I got quite a few others, but these two are the most extreme.

Great lightnings! I'm wating for a storm to come here, the last time we had one I had no camera and couldn't take any shots, but it's one of my "to do" things :)

Hey Judi,

You're doing very good friend, in the capture of these bolts, I've always aspired to do something simliar......in the spring we get pretty good storms, we will see.

Now that I have a "camera" and a bit more know how.....well we'll see.

Going to put these in my favorites for future reference....:-))

These are very well done, BTW!!

Thankyou Ryan. I am still buzzing from it. But with a hot cup of coffee. I was certainly not dressed for the occasion. Holding a brochure over the camera to protect it from the rain. But, I got it.

It was quite frightening as for most of it I was right under the power lines. In this image the long horizontal crack let off this major hiss. Incredible adrenaline rush.
