Hi Roger; it is unusual. When I saw the thumbnail my first thought was about the washed out sky, but it's really not bad with this composition as the blues and grays just sort of blend into the sky, anf the compositionn and detail are interesting. This is my first view of a cell phone photo-- it's cool. Cheers. Craig

Richard, I don't like bald or white skies any more than you do, but we get a lot of them in Japan. I suppose I ought to master the art of dropping in a blue sky, but my naturalist heart rebels. I guess I'd rather have it look like it was when I took the picture... I have saved a shot by desurating it to B&W, though, must admit.

John, I'm not averse to vertical panoramas... if you look through the "panorama" section of my collection on Usefilm or the "rogerama" collection at www.fujirangefinder.com you'll see I shoot a very high proportion of them. But this scene doesn't want to be confined that way. Unusual perspective, isn't it!

Better than most can do it with a $500 P$S digital camera. Japan looks totally different from all I have seen in my life. The way down ? Hmm, at least on a red carpet.

Roger - was gonn tell you to crop off more of the bottom, but now I am not so certain. A Phone? dang. Maybe you could crop it - vertically? sort of perverse panorama. Cheers - JB

You know, that little phone is going to give some competition to some cameras! I think I'll have a phone chip installed in my D70. This really makes the viewer think they're walking downhill with a nice single point perspective. Can't say I like the bald sky in color, but what can you do. It's funny how white skies are accepred in b+w photos but not usually liked in color.

Chris, if what you say is true (and I'd like it to be) you're the only one who has noticed! I rather enjoy the challenge of producing half-way decent work with such a limited tool. It's a matter of learning the limitations and working within them...

You should be commended on the quality of work you're producing from a phone ~ better than some people do with real cameras!!
