CONGRATS on the front page Jorg!

This image is just fantastic! How did I miss this one?

I especially like the composition, not showing all the wing, is both original and appealing! The focus really being his eye! And the background really compliment him and the flower!
Great title also!

Very good work!
Lori :)

Thank you for the close up view of this magnificent creature! What an adorable face he/she has! Spectacular Colors! The purple flower really adds to the beauty of the shot, and the purple trim around the frame was a wonderful touch! Thanks for sharing with us all!

Jorg, a great image. A great background to seperate the bug. Nice sharp detail and color. You have a very nice PF and am sure that you do not need much help in what you are doing. It looks as if you have mastered digital very well. Thanks for your kind comments. Sincerely, Don.

Hi Edmond, thanks for your suggestion: again, i would never even try shooting a picture like that without a tripod (even most of my landscapes are with tripod!). Secondly, since this was supposed to be a minimal DOF shot, I chose f8 because there the 3.5f 180 macro is sharpest and brings out the most detail in my experience (not that I am completely satisfied with the detail yet) But what blurr is still there is probably due to the mirror which I did not have on lock, and probably a not too sturdy tripod and lots of running kids at that place. Regards Jorg
P.S. Do not get me wrong here, I really appreciate your comments. I do not mind if they are critical. I definitely favor them over a: "Great shot" end of the story - even though those are welcome, too!

Very interesting close-up image of the butterfly, with very nice details and colours.

In my humble opinion, a longer DOF will be more welcome, but maybe need a tripod in order to use a smaller f-stop ~
