Thanks for your kind comment Mary, I favour landscape stuff more, but that's all weather permitting so have started to do more portrait stuff.

Its a little soft here Dave but thats more down to the lens rather than the photographer. What a lovely smile :) If your going to be doing more portraits I can highly recommend the 50mm MK II 1.8 lens. Build quality is nothing to write home about but its tack sharp and good bokeh :)

Previous commenter made a good point about the sharpness, and you are right to note the effect of a high ISO. Those problems though should not mask the strengths of this image: a sweet smile, natural pose, and direct gaze of a little girl. Her folded hands add nicely to the composition.
I notice that you said you had only been doing portraits for one week when you shot this. If that is the case, then WOW.
