About
Hong Kong Orchid Tree, Flowering period from early November until March. Bauhinia blakeana was first discovered in Hong Kong at the end of 19th century by the fathers of the French Mission at Pok Fu Lam and named after Sir Henry Blake, a former Govenor of Hong Kong. It was selected to be Hong Kong's emblem in 1965. With the establisment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on 1st july 1997, the flower was adobted as a logo on the regional flag. Students would like to use the leaves to make bookmarks because the leaves are special-shaped, with prominent veins and hav a name as "clever-leaf". Used TC 2X on zoom lens
